Chef Carl Ruiz was a Cuban-American force of nature. He was gregarious, a great time, and a hell of a chef. In the fall of 2018 we visited him at the buildout of his restaurant, La Cubana where he planned to create a Cuban hideaway in the middle of the meatpacking district in New York City. He opened in June of 2019 and it was an instant and lauded success. His Watch Story is a bittersweet one as we lost Carl in September of 2019, but his memory will live on in the passion for which he lived life, loved watches, and how he made those around him feel. When available, we will add the link to the scholarship being established in his name by the restaurant he leaves behind. This is his Watch Story.
